Nomination Guidelines - Freeforms
You can nominate a total of 10 Freeforms using the freeforms field.
What is "idfic"?
The most self-indulgent thing you can possibly imagine. Tentacles, purple prose, a scene that focuses on something just a little bit too long and then some, so bad it’s good, that Spock/OC you’ve always wanted. That sweet spot of goodness that makes you turn around to make sure no one is reading over your shoulder… and you were alone the whole time.
More on idfic at Fanlore.
Nominations
To nominate a Freeform, use the format: Trope Name - trope variation. You can elaborate with an iddy variation of the trope that hits a sweet spot version of the trope. Be as shameless as possible. Don’t hold back.
For example:
- Soulmates
- Soulmates - Mark appears after soul mate dies a virgin only sex with ghost brings them back to life
- Oviposition
- Oviposition - Gangraped through a wall
- Vampires
- Vampires - Blood drinking as foreplay
- Hurt/Comfort
- Hurt/Comfort - Iron Woobie crying while having wounds tended and pining due to feelings of worthlessness
This will enable other participants to find the tropes they’re interested in more easily, or for participants to elaborate on the exact flavor of iddiness they want in their Optional Details. Any tags not in this format will be corrected by the mod.
Feel free to get fandom specific! Just include the title of the canon in place of the Trope Name. If it fits better as a general trope, the mod will ask about it in the DW community. Example:
- MCU: Just serumed!Steve’s vessel in the lab is also a time machine
- Crossover: Thomas Barrow’s job is obsolete but he finds work as a Guide in the Night Vale
During the nominations period, the mod will post any questions they have of the nominators on the Dreamwidth community. Please keep an eye open for these posts until all your nominations are approved. The moderators have no way of seeing who nominated what and will need to be able to communicate with participants via the community.
