The historiography theme of Divine Cities has always fascinated me, and Vohannes was one of my favorite characters from City of Stairs (hilarious dialogue and glib attitude+ underlying rage at an unjust world = I am screaming crying throwing up etc.). He seems like he would be a very divisive historical figure and I think it would be super interesting to see how others from the Divine Cities universe would have interpreted his life and political impacts. I would also once again like to experience the catharsis of seeing a character who's forced to ignore their own feelings to cooperate with people who dehumanize them finally snap and verbally/physically eviscerate their enemies. Every time Vohannes was forced to play politics with the Restorationists after finding out their role in enforcing the repressive/homophobic writs of Kolkan I was genuinely seething, and I think it would be nice to see them face more satisfying consequences for that
