Nomination Guidelines - Characters and Relationships

Here are the rules and guidelines for nominations.

• You may nominate up to 6 fandoms, 10 relationships/characters, and 10 Freeforms.
• Disambiguate your nominations or they risk being rejected. Example: Steve Rogers (Marvel 616) or Sabrina Spellman (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Comics)
  
• Nominate crossovers under Crossover Fandom. Nominate as Steve Rogers (Marvel 616) & Sabrina Spellman (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Comics)
  
• Original characters are allowed under Original Works and under fandoms. Example: Steve Rogers (Marvel 616)/Original WWII Fighter Pilot.
  
• Readerfic is alllowed.
• RPF: RPF characters must be 18 or over at the time of nomination and must be public figures in their own right (no girlfriends/kids/parents of public figures permitted).
• Characters with "piping" in their tags may be entered with piping eliminated. Examples:
  • Aizawa Shota | Eraserhead may be entered as Aizawa Shota
  • En Dwi Gast | Grandmaster may be entered as Grandmaster
  • Geralt z Rivii | Geralt of Rivia may be entered as Geralt of Rivia

Please nominate shared universe fandoms using the following fandom tags. Feel free to comment about better methods of organizing fandoms.

 

Arrowverse

Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Constantine, Batwoman, Black Lightning, and Legends of Tomorrow tv shows will be nominated together as "DC's Arrowverse."

In regard to the Crisis on Infinite Earths Event, characters from other DC properties who appear in the event are also allowed. For example, you may nominate the Ezra Miller version of Barry Allen as DCEU!Barry Allen (DC's Arrowverse) or Starfire from Titans as Titans!Starfire (DC's Arrowverse).

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

For Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: the Series, please nominate under Buffyverse (TV).

DC Comics

Main-continuity DC comics, including pre-Flashpoint and New 52, will be under "DCU (Comics)". Other DC universes such as Bombshells will be separate by universe. Feel free to request reboot specific versions of a character, with some sort of colloquialism describing them. For example, reboot-version-colloquialism!Kara Zor El (DC Comics).

DC Movies

"DC Extended Universe" includes Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman, and Suicide Squad.

Detective Conan

Nominate "Detective Conan & Magic Kaito" as a single fandom. Nominate "Yaiba" as a separate fandom.

Disney

Please nominate characters from a single Disney animated film under their individual fandom (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, etc).

Downton Abbey

TV show and movie.

Dangan Ronpa

Nominate "Dangan Ronpa (Hope's Peak Arc)" for the first two main games + their expanded universe material, and "New Dangan Ronpa V3" for the rebooted third game and its additional media.

Neon Genesis Evangelion

"Rebuild of Evangelion | Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" should be nominated separately to Neon Genesis Evangelion. If nominating other parts of the franchise with significant story or character differences to the original canon, please comment first to discuss whether to split or combine fandom tags.

Fallout

All games should be combined under "Fallout (Video Games)", including Fallout: New Vegas

Fate/stay night Fandoms

Fate/Zero and Fate/stay night should be nominated under "Fate/stay night - All Media Types"

Final Fantasy

FF X and FF X-2 will be nominated as "Final Fantasy X & Final Fantasy X-2"

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones (TV) and A Song of Ice and Fire should be treated as separate fandoms

Harry Potter

The Harry Potter books, movies, and Fantastic Beasts should be separated.

Kamen Rider

Kamen Rider variations go together under "Kamen Rider - All Media Types"

Law and Order

Law and Order series will be nominated separately by series name.

Madoka Magica

The Magia Record side game should be nominated separately to Madoka Magia.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

All of the MCU movies. Does not include the tv shows, which are nominated separately.

Marvel Comics

Marvel Comics will be nominated by universe, for example: Marvel 616, Marvel Adventures, etc.

Mass Effect

Mass Effect will be "Mass Affect - All Media Types" and will include Mass Effect Andromeda.

Pokemon

Pokemon Games should be combined under "Pocket Monsters | Pokemon (Main Video Game Series)", while "Pocket Monsters SPECIAL | Pokemon Adventures" should be nominated separately.

Power Rangers

Power Rangers will be split into the movie tag "Power Rangers (2017)", and all shows will be combined under "Power Rangers (TV)"

Pretty Cure

All Pretty Cure series will be nominated together

Rune Factory

All Rune Factory series will be nominated together

Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon should nominated under:

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Manga/Crystal)

Sailor Moon (1992 Anime)

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Live Action TV)

She-Ra

Nominate the original series and the 2018 reboot separately.

Star Trek

The Next Generation includes the tv show and any movies associated with it. The Original Series includes the tv show and any movies associated with it. So on and so forth for all tv shows and associated movies. Alternate Original Series includes the 2009 film and its sequels.

Books are counted as individual canons. Comics are individual canons. Video games are individual canons. Crossovers between aforementioned categories should be nominated under "Crossover Fandom".

Star Wars

Please nominate the Star Wars movies under their respective trilogy tags (Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Star Wars Original Trilogy, Star Wars Sequel Trilogy). Other canons may be nominated under their individual tags (e.g. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)).

Super Sentai

Various Sentai properties go together under "Super Sentai Series"

Tolkien Fandoms

Tolkien nominations should be split into Silmarillion, books, or movies, as follows:

The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien

The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit - J. R. R. Tolkien

Middle Earth - Peter Jackson Movies

Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider nominations should be split into the following tags. Any books, comics, and other media should be nominated under the appropriate timeline, and the Angelina Jolie movies should be combined under Original Timeline:

X-Men Movies

X-Men (Movies) will now be divided into X-Men (Alternate Timeline Movies), X-Men (Original Timeline Movies) and Deadpool (2016). Wolverine movies go in Original Timeline
