Here are the rules and guidelines for nominations.


● You may nominate up to 6 fandoms, 10 relationships or characters (using the relationship slot) per fandom, and 10 Freeforms.


● Do not disambiguate your nominations except in crossover fandom. (We'll handle that part)


● Nominate crossovers under Crossover Fandom.


● RPF: RPF characters must be 18 or over at the time of nomination and must be public figures in their own right (no girlfriends/kids/parents of public figures permitted).


● Characters with "piping" in their tags may be nominated with or without the piping, just use your best judgement.


Characters and Ships

For characters and ships, feel free to go as specific as you want on nominations, this is really the exchange to go wild and ask for what you really want. 


● For single characters, please nominate them like this: Solo: Yuri Plisetsky (The “Solo:” part is important)


● For romantic or sexual pairings, please nominate them like this: Koltira Deathweaver/Thassarian


● For platonic groupings, please nominate them like this: Keith & Pidge


● Feel free to mix and match, for example: Otabek Altin/Yuri Plisetsky & Potya


● You can also nominate groups, as long as someone familiar with that canon will know who you mean. For example: Sam Holt & The MFE Pilots, or Korra & The Red Lotus. 


● You can nominate original or unnamed characters under a fandom. For example: Lotor & Original Altean Characters, or Solo: The Blade of Marmora Founder.


● Readerfic is allowed. Nominate it like this: Sylvanas Windrunner/Reader or Azshara/Female Reader


● For Original Work characters and pairings, please be sure to include the genders of the characters if it's important to you. If you want Female Knight/Male Blacksmith, for example, please nominate it that way. If you don't have a preference, Knight/Blacksmith is fine.


Larger groupings are also fine, if there is some scenario I haven't listed, feel free to ask here. 


Freeform Tags

I'm not here to question your id. If you nominated something it must be iddy for you, so there is no real litmus test to determine if a tag is "iddy enough"


● Very similar tags will be approved as long as they aren't 100% functionally identical, and even then I'll ask here first in case there is some nuance I am missing. 


● An example of what I might consider functionally identical is "Sex while pining" and "Pining while having sex"


● Don’t be afraid of being too weird or specific. That's what we're here for. Do you want clown foot fetishism? Field amputation by an amateur using the improper tools? In depth explorations of mineralogy on an alien planet? Elves that assert their dominance by making you sit in one place for hours as they elaborately braid your hair? This is the place to ask.


● You don’t have to be super specific if a general tag says all you want to say. Tags like “Hurt/Comfort” or “Soulmate AU” will also be approved. Sometimes what the id wants is to let the author or artist come up with the details, it’s fine.


● Fandom specific freeform tags are also allowed.

Are delineations for Original Work allowed? For example, if I have specific scenarios I'd like to see in a A/B/O universe only, can I nominate Original Work - A/B/O or should I fold this under the Original Work umbrella?

Please nominate it under the Original Work umbrella.

You can specify that you want it as omegaverse by phrasing it like "Female Alpha Knight/Male Omega Blacksmith" or if you don't care as much about the specifics "A/B/O: Knight/Blacksmith"

Is it okay to nominate things like concepts for nonexistent series for this exchange? I was specifically thinking of nominating Gotham High as one of my fandoms, but it only exists as a single blog post by the would-be creators' containing a plot synopsis and six pieces of concept art, so I wasn't sure if that would be considered a reasonable nomination.

There's also a comic book by the name of Gotham High since last year, so if it's allowed, make sure to disambiguate away from that.

Oh, geez, thanks for the warning! I hadn't heard about the Gotham High comic, but I knew there was a (totally unrelated) fake trailer for a nonexistent Gotham High movie someone made in 2013, so I ended up nominating it as Gotham High (Blog Post). I really appreciate the heads-up.

I hadn't heard about the trailer, but I was super sad that the show never made it into production! Hope someone writes it for you because I wanna read it, too haha

The trailer is cute, honestly! It just doesn't have nearly as much in it that grabbed me as the blog post does and high school AU cartoon with superheroes/supervillains is more my fannish thing than teen romantic comedy movie AU.

That's fine, as long as it exists somewhere, a fandom can be as small and short as you want.

Blog posts about non-existent series, short comics, paintings, music videos, etc are all fine.

If nominating a non-human canon character you wanted either humanized or made sentient, would you prefer if we baked that into the nomination (e.g. 'human!(character)' or 'anthro!(character)'), or to request it just as-canon and make the humanization/sentience an additional tag?

Is it okay to nominate multiple ships together? E.g. "A/B & D/C" if you want double dates, or "A/B & B/C" if you want some sort of cheating or love triangle or whatever?

One of the specific freeforms I was nominating looks like it got synned to something already in the tagset somehow; is there any way you could put in the freeform I wanted?

The freeform I wanted: "Hanahaki - love interest can't requite because they are dead"

are we allowed to nom other people's fanfic as the fandom because of specific worldbuilding/OCs/named interpretations of canon-vague characters? The one I'm thinking of already has a few spinoff fics by other authors
