Policy clarification and update.

After some discussion, we would like to make some small changes and clarify some of the policies for this exchange.

First, for extensions: Last minute extensions will now be granted on a case by case basis. For an extension we would like either a pic of your progress (for an artist) or a short summary of your fic as well as your current progress.

An example of what that might look like is: A and B are fake dating, they have just attended the wedding of B’s ex and gotten back to their hotel room where there is only one bed. I still need to write the scene where they wake up cuddling and confess their feelings. I currently have 3k written of what will likely be a 4k fic.

Checking gifts before reveals: We will not be doing a thorough read through of each gift. We are going to check tags and skim for completion, then do some spot checks. There simply is not enough time to read through each fic thoroughly, so please let us know if you have any issues and we will do our best to resolve them.

I commented on the previous post but comments have since been disabled. Thank you for addressing my concerns regarding extensions by posting this new update, although my other question remains unanswered and is now invisible. I hope it's okay that I repost it here.

If the gift does not comply with the rules, then the recipient has not received what they were promised when they signed up for the exchange. So they go out to pinch hit. I will contact creators throughout the week before work reveals to edit the gift if they’d like. No one will lose the chance of receiving a gift if their assignment did not comply with the rules. They have turned in their gift by the deadline and have not defaulted, which are the only ways to not be a pinch hit.

My response was this:

This is bizarre to me. This means I could turn in an incomplete, 500 word fic at the deadline that's full of DNWs and does not address my recipient's freeforms or characters, yet still be guaranteed a gift? Am I understanding that correctly?

Thank you for clarifying, I appreciate this approach.
