Updates to the rules

We've added a rule to codify a common bit of exchange etiquette: The only recipient of your work should be the person whose request you are fulfilling. Please do not gift works to multiple recipients, even if they have similar requests and even if your creation is a non-assignment treat.

The rules post also now has instructions for how to fulfill an assignment or post a treat on AO3, clarifies that treats do not have to meet assignment requirements, and notes that the collection is moderated and not to panic if work approvals take a few days (there are only two of us!).

Fandoms

Several fandoms have been nominated where the only nomination is a crossover. We will give these 24 hours and then associate crossover ships with Crossover Fandom and reject fandoms with no remaining nominated ships.

Relationships

General requests

When nominating in a fandom with multiple similarly named canons, please disambiguate with the name of the specific canon, e.g., Witcher TV rather than The Witcher.

Please check the tagset before nominating to minimize duplication, especially if you're nominating within a large fandom.

When nominating Canon Character/Original Character(s), please put the disambiguation at the end of the ship, as in Canon Character/Original Character (Canon Name), so it doesn't look like a crossover.

Original Work nominators:

- Nomination formatting in this exchange is a little different from most other exchanges. Please check the rules and make sure your nominations are formatted correctly.

- If you nominated ships with multiple genders, please specify gender for each character unless the language of the nomination is inherently gendered. We assume an heiress is female and a widower is male, but words such as rogue, gold-digger, knight, socialites, and demon are unclear. The FM prefix is used for both Male Character/Female Character and Female Character/Male Character ships. Use any if you don't care what gender the character is.

Specific queries

Crossover nominators, please ignore the text at the top of the nomination form (which AO3 provides and we cannot change) and nominate crossovers under Crossover Fandom. Crossovers between subfandoms, such as Sixth Doctor (DW 1963)/Thirteenth Doctor (DW 2005), should also be nominated under Crossover Fandom. We will give existing misplaced crossover nominations 24 hours and then associate them with Crossover Fandom.

Blake's 7: For the nomination Bayban/Any (Blake’s 7), does "Any" mean "Any Character" or literally anyone including OCs, reader, crossovers, etc.? Please clarify.

The Murderbot Diaries - Martha Wells: For the nomination Murderbot (Murderbot Diaries) & Other(s), does "Other(s)" mean "Any Character(s)" or literally anyone including OCs, reader, crossovers, etc.? Please clarify.

MCU: Loki/Thor is now in the tagset, so we will reject Catboy!Loki/Dogboy!Thor. If you want this specific dynamic, it's fine to nominate it as a freeform.

Original Work: For Other: Reclusive Witch & Wizard Sent to Kill Her & Orphans Abandoned In The Woods (OW), please add genders and clarify whether the wizard has been sent to kill both the witch and the orphans, or only the witch.

Freeforms

We have been advised that some Supernatural-specific freeforms include spoilers. It's fine to keep nominating these, but if you care about avoiding spoilers for that show, take caution when reading the S section of the freeforms. All those freeforms appear to start with the "SPN:" prefix.

Boot kink - A forces B rub off on their boot as a "favour" -- Is this meant to be a favor to A or to B?

Just so you know, "Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian (The Untamed)" appears under the fandom "魔道祖师 - 墨香铜臭 | Módào Zǔshī - Mòxiāng Tóngxiù" as well as its home fandom of "陈情令 | The Untamed (TV)".

(ughhhh it's annoying that the most obvious disambiguation is wandering now...)

Also, some more tagset cleanup/clarification in another related fandom:

The fandom "魔道祖师 | Módào Zǔshī (Cartoon)" currently has the following tags:
Lán Zhàn | Lán Wàngjī/Wèi Yīng | Wèi Wúxiàn (MDZS)
Lan-furen/Qingheng-jun (MDZS)

The first tag doesn't need piping. You can change it to "Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian"; everyone knows who they are with those names.

I also suggest changing the disambiguation to "(MDZS Cartoon)" instead of "(MDZS)" to avoid potential confusion with the novel. (This is why I disambiguated my novel nominations with ("MDZS - MXTX").) (The cartoon tags haven't wandered yet, but...)

Fate/Grand Order nominator here, removed the piping from my nominations! I’m unsure if other people nominated for this fandom but sometimes the piping is needed when a character is in a different class (Saber, Lancer, etc), as different classes count as alternative versions of the same character.

I believe clarification without piping can be achieved by stating the class alongside with the name like Caster Gilgamesh instead of Gilgamesh | Caster, so I hope this helps if you need to edit anything.
